Amidst the public scrutiny that has surrounded their life, this is the first time they are coming together after being estranged for 25 years to understand their varied perspectives around those pivotal moments that led to their falling-out and their struggle to piece together their fractured relationship.
In the premiere episode, Tatum returns to Los Angeles to be closer to her father in Malibu, and broaches the subject of seeking professional help to address their history. Later she invites her dad to her birthday party, marking the first time in years he has celebrated with her and they catch a glimpse of the solid relationship they once shared. In subsequent episodes Ryan and Tatum travel to Palm Springs to the film festival screening of "Paper Moon" -- the 1973 movie they starred in together for which Tatum won the Academy Award. Together they share a moment of reflection as they witness the on-screen bond that was once true-to-life. However, when they attend the Smithsonian induction of Farrah Fawcett's legendary red bathing suit, deep-rooted emotions from the past are provoked for them both, questioning the future of their relationship forever.
The series is produced by Endemol USA. Tatum O'Neal, Ryan O'Neal and R. Greg Johnston are the executive producers.
